Aquinas High School Shares the Gift of Reading

High School for the incredible success of their recent book drive benefiting RISE Augusta!

Thanks to their generosity, hundreds of wonderful books will soon find their way into the hands of children who need them most. We are especially grateful to Ms. Anne Norviel for her leadership, organization, and dedication in making this effort such a success. Her hard work inspired an entire school community to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children.

At RISE Augusta, we know that access to books is one of the most important factors in helping children become successful readers. Many of the students we serve come from low-income or poverty-stricken households where there may be few—or sometimes no—books available at home. When children have books of their own, they are more likely to read for pleasure, build vocabulary, strengthen literacy skills, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
