Get Augusta Reading (GAR)
RISE Augusta and the Harris Literacy Center have joined with a wide range of community partners—including the Richmond County School System, RESA, Augusta University, the Girl Scouts—to launch Get Augusta Reading, a local chapter of the Get Georgia Reading Campaign. These organizations represent just a few of the many partners engaged in this growing effort.
This growing coalition now includes more than 75 community members united around one goal: ensuring every child in Augusta has the literacy skills needed to succeed. Together, we are identifying strategic priorities and aligning our efforts to create meaningful, lasting impact—both now and for the future.
We invite you to be part of this initiative.Whether you are an educator, business leader, volunteer, or simply someone who cares about the future of our community, there is a place for you in this work. Literacy is not just an education issue—it is a community issue, and it will take all of us working together to move the needle.
