Celebrating Excellence: Angela Prince Receives NAACP Innovation in Education Award

We are thrilled to share some extraordinary news from the RISE Augusta family! Our very own Angela Prince, Director of Operations, was selected by the Augusta-Richmond County Branch of the NAACP to receive the Innovation in Education Award at their 52nd Annual MLK Freedom Fund Banquet on January 26, 2026.

This prestigious honor recognizes Angela’s exceptional leadership, visionary approach, and unwavering commitment to supporting at-risk students throughout Richmond County. Through her work with RISE Augusta, Angela helps ensure that hundreds of students receive the academic and non-academic supports they need to grow in confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and build brighter futures. From in-school services to powerful after-school reading programs, and work skills development her dedication to educational equity embodies the true spirit and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Angela’s passion, compassion, and tireless advocacy for children remind us daily why RISE’s mission matters. We are incredibly proud of her and grateful for the impact she continues to make in our schools and our community.
