Meet Debby Kalliokoski, Resource Development Director
"To be in a child’s memory tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today." – Barbara Johnson
A lifelong advocate for community service, Debby Kalliokoski has dedicated her career to uplifting others. Originally from Ohio, she pursued her education in Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Voorhees College in 2003.
With decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, Debby has held key roles at United Way of Central Florida, United Way of the CSRA, the Medical College of Georgia, and organizations like the Ronald McDonald House and Boys & Girls Club. Since joining RISE Augusta in 2014, she has played a pivotal role in its growth, helping expand the team from two to over 32 employees.
A RISE Augusta staff favorite, Debby’s passion lies in breaking down barriers for children facing poverty and hardship. Whether providing food, clothing, medical care, or educational support, she ensures that every child has the resources they need to thrive. One student, grateful for new clothes, sent a heartfelt note and a picture—just one of many reminders of the profound impact she has made.
"Nobody can replace the feelings I’ve experienced at RISE," Debby shares. "Being part of this family—working alongside those who inspire, encourage, and uplift—has been one of the greatest joys of my life."
Her legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to those who need it most.
