Community Book Boxes – One Box at a Time!

Next time you're driving down Lake Forest Drive, take a moment to check out the two beautiful boxes right in front of Lake Forest Hills Elementary School. One is a Blessings Box, filled with canned goods and non-perishables for those in need. The other is RISE Augusta’s newest Little Library—part of our growing network of book boxes placed throughout the community to spark a love of reading.

A huge thank you to Stacy Vincenzetti for turning this box into a true work of art! Each panel is hand-painted with vibrant scenes and characters from beloved children’s books. It’s so beautiful, we almost don’t want to use it… almost.

And behind every book-filled box is someone who cares. In this case, it’s Laura Marshalk with Regions Bank—the heart and hands behind keeping this Little Library stocked. Laura, we are so grateful for your dedication to spreading literacy in such a creative and meaningful way!

Of course, installing these boxes isn’t as easy as it looks. They’re heavy, a bit cumbersome, and must be secured to withstand Georgia’s unpredictable weather and frequent use. Thankfully, we have incredible volunteers who always step up when we need them most.

A huge hug and heartfelt thank you to David Sims and Roderick Prince—your time, tools, and talents made this installation possible. We truly couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re on a mission to Get Augusta Reading, and we’d love your help.
